Dr. Robert Sikora founded The Virginia Center for Allergy and Asthma with the goal to provide exceptional diagnostic and treatment options for a wide spectrum of allergic disorders. He has been practicing in Virginia for over 15 years and is a diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He obtained his medical degree at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/Chicago Medical School in 1994; he then completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1997 at Northwestern University. Dr. Sikora remained at Northwestern University to complete his fellowship in Allergy/Immunology which he completed in 1999. He was elected Chief Fellow of the Allergy/Immunology Division at Northwestern University and also won the Illinois State Allergy Society Award for excellence in research for his paper on occupational asthma.
Since moving to Virginia, Dr. Sikora has been invited to speak at many physician meetings and has been on the Speakers’ Board of several pharmaceutical companies. He is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology as well as the American College of Allergy and Immunology. He holds the honor of being named a “Top Doctor” in Northern Virginia in 2015. Dr. Sikora resides in Fredericksburg with his wife, Dr. Barbara Newberg and their several dogs. His interests outside of the office include cooking, travel and photography – in fact, many of his photos can be found on the walls of his office. Dr. Sikora sees patients at the Woodbridge and Fredericksburg offices, and has consulting privileges at both Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital.
