Information and Education
Do's and Don'ts Before Your Appointment
It is unnecessary to stop nasal sprays, any asthma medications, antibiotics, or steroids, as these do not interfere with allergy testing. Please be aware that allergy testing may not be performed if you are currently taking a beta-blocker for heart disease. Do not hesitate to call our office if you have a question about which medications to discontinue.
New patient appointments generally last up to 2-3 hours, and you should try to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to your appointment to complete any necessary paperwork. New appointments typically consist of an interview session with the physician, followed by recommended allergy or asthma testing, then a review of the test results along with recommendations by the physician. In some cases, lab tests or X-rays may be required.
Soon after your visit, a letter reviewing the results and recommendations will be sent to you and your primary care physician. You may also access your electronic health record via the Patient Portal If you must reschedule for any reason, please try to do so as early as possible for the convenience of other patients. If any questions should arise prior to your appointment, please do not hesitate to call. We look forward to your visit!
